| Larisa is a clay artist born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada, currently living in the Ottawa Valley. A former environmental field technician and avid outdoor enthusiast, her artistic inspiration comes from her strong connection with the earth. The methods she uses to create and fire her clay pieces are based on primitive techniques. She does not use a potters wheel as she does not like her work to look and feel machine made. Touch or hold one of her pieces for a brief time and you will feel the warmth. Most pieces are hand polished (no glazes) and fired outside in smouldering leaves, sawdust or other dry organic material. The outdoor firing usually takes several days. Each piece is unique.
